Personalized Tailor Quilting Clapper Pin Cushion Specalized

These Clappers are similar to our regular clappers except with a specialized tool attached to add additional functionality to our clappers. Our Pin Cushion Clapper is a medium sized purple heart clapper with a pin cushion on the top. The Pin cushion is made with fabric, filler, and crushed walnuts glued into the clapper. The crushed walnuts sharpen pins and needles.

A Clapper is used mostly in sewing, quilting and tailoring to protect fabric and flatten seams. After a seam is ironed, place a Clapper on the seam to absorb the heat and moisture leaving a more flat seem and protecting new fabric from color bleeding. Purple Heart is a wood type from Brazil. The heart of the wood naturally is a purple color. As purple heart is exposed to heat the color deepens. In other uses the wood can gray over time, however due to the nature of a Clapper being exposed to heat from the iron via the cloth it is absorbing heat from, our clappers, if used often enough, will remain purple. These clappers are ergonomically designed to feel good in your hands and the density of the purple heart wood, while making it heavy to lift, adds to the quality of the seam produced.
